HOW TO ENTER

Beginning approximately May 2, 2011, (the “Contest Starting Date”) while supplies last, purchase a specially marked package of Jamieson vitamins, and look inside to find a unique alpha-numeric code located on the game card. To enter and participate in the Contest, log on to the Sponsor’s website www.flipthelid.com and complete and submit the online registration, including your full name, email, mailing address and unique alpha-numeric code to find out if your game card is a potential winner. Please also confirm that you have read and agree to be bound by the Contest rules, and indicate ‘yes’ or ‘no’ as to whether you wish to opt in to receive additional information from the Sponsor. To be eligible, all entries, together with the alphanumeric code, must be received on or before 11:59 p.m. on October 28, 2011, (the “Contest Closing Date”).

NO PURCHASE NECESSARY

To participate without purchase, clearly print your name, email, mailing address and a telephone number on a plain piece of paper, describe in a minimum 50-word, handwritten essay what brand of vitamins you purchase and why, and mail it to: Jamieson “FLIP the LID” Contest, No Purchase Request, P.O. Box 157, Toronto Postal Station B, Toronto, ON M5T 2T3. Duplicate essays or requests will be discarded. Limit of one (1) no purchase entry request per household during the contest period. To be eligible to receive a game card in the mail with a potential winning alpha-numeric code, all requests must be received by September 12, 2011, and will become the property of Jamieson Laboratories Ltd. (“Jamieson” or “Sponsor”).

IF YOU DO NOT HAVE ACCESS TO THE INTERNET

If you do not have access to the Internet and still want to participate, after finding the game card inside the specially marked package of Jamieson vitamins, make a note of and keep a copy of the game card with the alpha-numeric code for your reference, and mail the original game card, along with your name, mailing address and daytime telephone number, to Jamieson “FLIP the LID” Contest, Code Verification Request, P.O. Box 157, Toronto Postal Station B, Toronto, ON, M5T 2T3. The independent contest organization will enter your alpha-numeric code on your behalf and will advise you only if it is a potential winner. Jamieson Laboratories is not responsible for any entries or requests that are damaged, destroyed, lost, late or misdirected. To be eligible all Code Verification requests must be received by October 28, 2011, the Contest Closing Date.

ELIGIBILITY

This promotion is open to residents of Canada who have reached the age of majority in their province of residence and who are not employees, members of the immediate family, or domiciled with an employee of Jamieson, its subsidiaries, parent or affiliated companies, advertising or promotional agencies, or the independent contest organization. In these Rules, “immediate family” means spouse, mother, father, sisters, brothers, sons and daughters.

GRAND PRIZE

There are ten (10) Great Canadian Adventure Grand Prizes available to be won, each consisting of:

  • A twelve-day (12) rail and hotel package from Vancouver to Halifax, or an eleven-day (11) rail and hotel package from Halifax to Vancouver.
  • Round-trip, first class airfare for two (2) persons. The winner will be transported from the Canadian airport nearest the winner’s place of residence (the “Local Airport”) to the rail departure point of Vancouver or Halifax, whichever is closest to the winner’s place of residence. The point of origin for the tour, based on proximity to the winner’s place of residence, will dictate the tour direction. Return air travel from the final trip destination, Vancouver or Halifax, will transfer the winner to the Canadian airport closest to the winner’s home.
  • A total of 10 nights sleeping accommodations. Five (5) nights premium hotel accommodation (based on double occupancy) in a destination city, and five (5) nights deluxe sleeping accommodation aboard VIA Rail.
  • Ten (10) meals (alcoholic beverages not included).
  • City tours in Vancouver, Montreal and Jasper.
  • Transfer from Vancouver airport to Vancouver hotel and thereafter to the VIA Rail station and from hotel in Halifax to Halifax airport, transfer to and from rail station in Jasper.
  • Local transportation limited to: Transfer between the airport, hotel, and VIA Rail station in the tour origin city. Transfer between VIA Rail Station and hotel in the tour destination city. Transfer between hotel and departure airport in the tour destination city. Transfer to and from rail station in Jasper.
  • $7,500.00 (CAD) spending money in the form of a cheque.

Travel is subject to availability at time of booking and blackout is in effect between December 22, 2011, through to and including January 4, 2012. All bookings must be made through Sponsor’s designated travel agent, John Steel Rail Tours. Winner and his/her travel companion are solely responsible for all other costs not specifically included in the Grand Prize description including, without limitation, automobile rental, all parking, transportation to and from the Local Airport to the winner’s place of residence, any personal items, departure and/or applicable taxes, baggage handling, gratuities, custom tour add-ons, travel and/or medical insurance, appropriate travel documentation, etc.

Except with the prior express written consent of the Sponsor, at its sole and absolute discretion, any proposed travel companion of a winner who is not of the age of majority in their province or territory of residence, must be the sibling, child, grandchild, niece or nephew of such winner and must have the prior express written consent of their parent or legal guardian, in form and substance satisfactory to the Sponsor, in its sole and absolute discretion, in order to accompany such winner on the Grand Prize trip. The approximate retail value of the Grand Prize will vary, depending on the place of residence of the winner. The total value of the Great Canadian Adventure Grand Prize is approximately $20,000, comprised of $12,500 being the estimated retail value of the trip portion based on a Vancouver rail departure, plus $7,500.00 cash spending money.

Cash Surrender Option

A Grand Prize winner may opt in writing to select the cash surrender value of the Great Canadian Adventure package in the amount of $20,000 (CAD) cash paid in the form of a cheque.

The odds of winning a Grand Prize at the outset of the promotion are approximately 1:72,222. The odds of winning and the number of Grand Prizes available to be won will diminish as Grand Prizes are claimed. In the event that there are no potential “instant” Grand Prize winners, a random draw will take place from all eligible alphanumeric entries received on Wednesday, November 16, 2011, at approximately 10 a.m. (EST) in Toronto, Ontario, where one (1) winner will be selected to win one (1) cash prize of $20,000 (CAD) paid in the form of a cheque. Maximum one (1) prize per household.

Taxes and Additional Costs: The winner shall be solely responsible for any applicable taxes, including, without limitation, federal and provincial income taxes, GST, HST and/or QST, arising from the receipt of the prize. Any additional costs incurred in collecting and using the prize are also the winner’s responsibility.

SECONDARY PRIZES

There are forty-three (43) Secondary Prizes available to be won, each consisting of one (1) 64 GB Apple® iPad. A draw will be held each day beginning May 2, 2011, including weekends, and one (1) Apple® iPad will be awarded for 43 days, ending June 13, 2011. The approximate retail value of each Secondary Prize (64 GB Apple® iPad) is $749 CAD. The odds of winning a Secondary Prize depend on the number of eligible entries received as of the day immediately prior to a draw. The Secondary Prize must be accepted as awarded and is not transferable or convertible to cash. The Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to substitute a prize or prize component for one of equal or greater value. The number of prizes available to be won will diminish as prizes are claimed. Winners of the Secondary Prizes will be notified by mail. Maximum one (1) prize per household. Any prizes not claimed will not be awarded.

HOW TO CLAIM THE GRAND PRIZE

If, after checking on the “FLIP the LID” website, you are advised that your alpha-numeric code is a potential winner, make a photocopy of your insert, retain it for your records, and send the original game card with the “winning” code (registered mail is recommended) along with your name, address and daytime telephone number to: Jamieson “FLIP the LID” Contest, P.O. Box 157, Toronto Postal Station B, Toronto, ON, M5T 2T3.

Upon receipt of the game card, the independent contest organization will validate the submission. Mechanically reproduced entries will not be eligible or accepted and will be deemed to be null and void. To be declared a winner, you must correctly answer, without assistance of any kind, mechanical or otherwise, a mathematical skill-testing question administered by mail. To be eligible to win, the original game card with the winning code must be received by Monday, November 14, 2011.

Fraud-detection devices may be placed on the participating game cards. Any game card that has been forged, mechanically reproduced, altered, defaced, mutilated or tampered with in any way, contains printing or other errors or has been obtained through unintended or unauthorized channels is void. By entering the contest, entrants agree to adhere to the contest rules and the decisions of the independent contest organization, which are final and binding.

No more than the above listed prizes will be awarded. In the event that there is not an “instant” winner of a Grand Prize, one (1) entry will be randomly drawn by the Sponsor on Wednesday, November 16, 2011, in Toronto, Ontario, at approximately 10:00 a.m. (EST) from among all eligible entries received on or before the contest closing date. Before being declared a winner, the selected entrant will be required to correctly answer, without assistance of any kind, whether mechanical or otherwise, a mathematical skill-testing question, and to sign a declaration and release confirming compliance with the contest rules, acceptance of the prize as awarded and releasing the Sponsor, its affiliates, directors, officers, employees, agents and servants, and its advertising and promotional agencies from all liability in connection with the contest and the awarding of a prize.

RELEASES

Each winner will be required to sign a Declaration of Compliance with Official Rules and a Publicity/Liability Release, releasing the Sponsor, its affiliates, subsidiaries, parent and related companies, advertising and promotional agencies, the independent contest organization and all of their respective directors, officers, owners, partners, employees, participating retailers, agents, representatives, successors and assigns (collectively, the “Releasees”) from any liability in connection with this contest or a prize. Declaration and release documents must be returned within ten (10) business days of the date of the notification or the prize may be forfeited. By accepting a Prize, each winner consents to the use of his/her name, address, voice, statement and photograph or other likeness, without further compensation, in any publicity or advertisement carried out by or on behalf of the Sponsor in any manner whatsoever including print, broadcast or via the Internet.

GENERAL

By entering the contest, each entrant agrees to abide by the Official Rules and the decisions of the independent contest organization, which shall be final and binding in all matters related to this contest. Entrants who have not complied with these Official Rules, shall be disqualified. All entries and requests for no purchase entries become the property of the Sponsor, which assumes no responsibility for incomplete, illegible, damaged, lost, stolen, delayed, or misdirected or postage due entries or requests for entries, any failure of the website during the promotional period, including, without limitation, as a consequence of any problems or technical malfunction of any telephone network or lines, computer online systems, servers, access providers, computer equipment, software, failure of any e-mail or entry to be received by the Sponsor on account of technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet or at any website, or any combination thereof including any injury or damage to an entrant’s or any other person’s computer related to or resulting from playing or downloading any material in the promotion.

The Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to cancel or suspend the website portion of this contest should a virus, bug or other cause beyond the reasonable control of the Sponsor corrupt the security or proper administration of the contest. Any attempt to deliberately damage any website or to undermine the legitimate operation of this promotion is a violation of criminal and civil laws, and should such an attempt be made, the Sponsor reserves the right to seek remedies and damages to the fullest extent permitted by law, including criminal prosecution. Entries are subject to verification and will be declared invalid if they are illegible, irregular, mechanically reproduced, mutilated, forged, falsified, altered or tampered with in any way or that have been submitted through illicit means or do not conform with or satisfy any or all conditions of these Official Rules.

The Sponsor reserves the right, subject to the approval of the Régie des alcools, des courses et des jeux du Québec, to terminate this contest or to amend these contest rules at any time without notice or with notice in major national newspapers if any factor interferes with the proper conduct of the contest as contemplated by these Official Rules. The Sponsor reserves the right to make substitutions for all or any component of any prize. This contest is subject to all applicable federal, provincial and municipal laws and regulations. FOR QUEBEC RESIDENTS

Any litigation respecting the conduct or the organization of a publicity contest may be submitted to the Régie des alcools, des courses et des jeux for a ruling. Any litigation respecting the awarding of a prize may be submitted to the Régie des alcools, des courses et des jeux only for the purpose of helping the parties reach a settlement.
